Two volumes in original full brown leather with gold and title labels on spine. Boards of volume two having been reattached. Mild scuffs and stains of exteriors. Corners variably bumped and split. Mild shelf wear. 19th century owner’s name (Alfred P Munson MD??) on ffeps. Vol 1: 538 pages, one plate. Vol 2: 621 pages, a dozen plates (in colors; one folding plate in red; one missing approx top half). Wistar’s was the first American textbook on anatomy, and went through subsequent editorship under William Horner, and later Joseph Pancoast.
