Original full brown tree calf, with boards ruled in gold. Spine with red label and tooled in gold. Front joint cracked with exposure of cords, but interior hinge intact. Mild shelf wear. Corners bumped and split. Marbled page edges and end papers. Mild foxing. Numerous plates. Set in two columns. 836 pages.
Undated but not before 1848, as that is the latest year we find included in the final work in the book (A Sequel to the History of the Jews). Probably later 19th century, judging by aesthetics.
