Three quarto volumes bound in half leather bindings with brown leather spines and coroner, and marbled papers over boards. Gold text and tooling as well as raised bands on spines. Ribbon page markers. Gilt top edges of text blocks. Bindings tight. Pages clean and bright. Page edges with mild damp stain on all three volumes. Some mild discoloration of spine of volume 2. All volumes copiously illustrated with black and white and color photos, diagrams, and plates. Inscribed by author in blue ink on final front fly leaf in volume one, “To Walter Garst Many of these pages have gained from the wealth of your fine library Ralph Millard 1976.”
